EIIFF REGULATIONS 2025

Article 1

The Eikhoigi Imphal International Film Festival (EIIFF) celebrates the art of cinema while establishing Manipur as a strategic hub for independent filmmaking. By showcasing high-quality films, hosting Talent Labs, including Pitch Sessions for emerging filmmakers, and facilitating dynamic industry engagement events, EIIFF aims to advance cinematic artistry and foster the growth of the audiovisual industry in this region.

Article 2

EIIFF retains the exclusive authority to select the films to be screened as Official Selection and determine the appropriate section for each film’s participation.

Article 3

The Official Selection of EIIFF 2025 comprises:

• Opening Film
• Closing Film
• Open Competition Films
• World Lens
• Northeast Currents
• Eikhoigi Classics Films
• Manipuri Cinema

Article 4

To be selected and invited for the Official Selection except for Eikhoigi Classics, films must meet the following criteria:

• Have been produced between January 2023 and December 2024;
• Not have been previously screened in Manipur except for films produced in the State;
• Not have been publicly screened on the Internet;
• Align with the Festival’s objectives as outlined in Article 1.

Any film invited to compete in the competition must have the consent of the rights-holder, producer, or authorized representative responsible for submitting the film.

Article 5

5.1 Rights-holders submitting a film for selection guarantee that they possess the necessary rights to allow the film to be screened as part of the EIIFF program. Once selected, a film cannot be withdrawn from the festival program, except in the event of a decision by the Indian courts. Additionally, the screening of the film is subject to clearance by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India.

5.2 The Festival will not be held liable in the event of a third-party complaint. Should a third-party complaint arise regarding the screening of a film in the selection, EIIFF is not responsible for determining the legitimacy of such complaints nor for withdrawing the film without a ruling from an enforceable judicial authority within India.

5.3 In the case of exceptional circumstances, EIIFF reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to select any film as Official Selection film or withdraw a film from its program.

Article 6

All films must include English subtitles on the Digital Cinema Package (DCP). The producer is responsible for covering the costs of subtitling.

Article 7

7.1 Films in Competition
The Jury is required to award the following honors:

• Eikhoigi Best Fiction Feature Film Award
• Eikhoigi Best Documentary Film Award
• Eikhoigi Jury Prize/s

A film may only receive one of these awards. However, the Jury Prize may, at the discretion of the festival, be associated with awards for direction, cinematography, editing, sound, production design, and acting.

7.2 Independent Jury Award
Independent bodies of juries may present additional awards according to their own criteria during the festival.

Article 8

The deadline to submit a feature film for the selection is 10^th January 2025.

A submission sheet must be filled up online before this date on www.eiiff.org.

The films selected for the festival must be uploaded online in DCP at least before 20^th January 2025, midnight. If the DCP of films do not arrive by the deadline, they will not be screened. This deadline is mandatory.

Article 9

In due course, documentation for each film selected must be sent to the eikhoigi.eiiff@gmail.com and a royalty-free excerpt must be supplied so that it may be included in any clips that the EIIFF provides to the public during the event.

Article 10

EIIFF has the authority to settle all cases not foreseen in the present regulations.

Article 11

Participation in EIIFF implies adhering to the present regulations and prior compliance with the preselection conditions.

In the event of a disagreement on the interpretation of the regulations, the legal settlement would have to be done in the law courts in Manipur.

The present regulations apply to the entirety of the Official Selection.

FILMS
IN OFFICIAL SELECTION
CONDITIONS

Except for Eikhoigi Classics, only films that meet the following conditions may be chosen for invitation to the Official Selection:

• Films that have been produced between January 2023 and December 2024.
• Films that have not been shown on the Internet.

FILM DURATION

To be selected as a fiction feature film, your film must be more than 70 minutes long.

To be selected as a Documentary feature film, your film must be 50 minutes or more.

To be selected as a Short film, your film must be 5 to 30 minutes long.

MEANS OF PAYMENT

Only payment by credit or debit cards such as  Visa, Mastercard are accepted. Your card will be debited on a secure website when filling in the entry form. Payment validates the completion of registration. All payments must be made in rupees.

IF YOUR FILM IS SELECTED

You will be contacted before the official press conference.

You must supply us with a DCP (Digital Cinema Package).

The EIIFF Film department will send you all the necessary information on time, only if your film is selected.
