In a matrilineal society in Garo Hills, north-eastern India, a family struggles financially. The mother works hard but feels dissatisfied, while the father’s efforts to improve their situation fail. Constant criticism from the wife’s family adds to his frustration, creating distance between them. Their son dreams of studying outside the village. One day, the father, burdened by his troubles, makes a life-changing decision, unbeknownst to his family. This story illustrates the balance between societal expectations, personal dreams, and sacrifices.
