In the valley of Manipur, a little boy named Boong, plans to surprise his mother with a gift. In his innocence, he believes that bringing his father back home would be the most special gift for his mother. His plan is disrupted when his father, who works in a border town called Moreh, is pronounced ‘dead’. When suspicious details unravel that something is amiss, the boy sets out on a journey to the India-Myanmar border, in search of the truth.

Lakshmipriya Devi always wanted to tell stories. That story eventually emerged while seeking closure from an uncomfortable part of her childhood, in Manipur – a place called ‘home’. A graduate in Economics and a post graduate in Mass Communications, she has drawn from her experience as a First Assistant Director in landmark Indian productions such as Luck by Chance, Talaash, PK, A Suitable Boy etc. to make her directorial debut with ‘Boong’.
